The London Rowing Club
ROWING
The Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race, Henley Royal Regatta and the Head of the River are all woven into the rich tapestry of British Heritage. Hackett has confirmed its support for this tradition by sponsoring one of London's oldest rowing clubs, The London Rowing Club.
The Rowing Club's alumni boast the motor racing legend, Graham Hill (his racing helmet, also embraced by son Damon, was fashioned from the LRC's official colours) and the Honorary President is HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
The club has always offered rowing of the highest standards for both locals and those moving to London from around the country, especially those from Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
Henley proved a Regatta too far as the LRC only managed a couple of semi-Finals in the Thames and Prince of Wales Cups.
The LRC were, however, well represented in the World Championships that took place in Poland in August, with 8 rowers from the Club taking part, a number only surpassed by the Leander Club.
