Acetate sourced from Italy resists fading under prolonged sun better than standard injection-moulded plastic, an origin Hackett London has kept for most of its frames since expanding into eyewear. Men's sunglasses in the range run on metal hinges with a flex spring, which open past the natural angle without stressing the acetate rivet.

Category 3 polarised lenses filter out horizontal glare — the sort that bounces off a road or water surface — something a standard tinted lens can't do, since it only reduces overall light without treating that specific reflection. Every model carries UV400 protection, the standard that blocks close to all ultraviolet radiation.

What's the difference between polarised and tinted lenses?
