What is it?
Flannel is a woolen cloth that has been woven and given a milled finish, resulting in a beautiful warm handled and smooth cloth. For a number of years, we have worked closely with Fox Brothers, a mill established in the 1770s in Somerset, to craft impeccable flannel pieces, from full suits to tailored trousers and more casual blazers. Fox Brothers use a super-fine merino wool to craft their incredible flannel (which they cram densely into each cloth), where each batch is milled for around 8 hours – an integral part of the finishing process.

Why Flannel?
Flannel is a timeless, high quality fabric that is guaranteed to stand the test of time. Owning a flannel suit is like owning a family heirloom – it’s an investment piece that promises enduring style. Unlike a lot of its more casual counterparts, flannel is also incredibly flattering, hanging beautifully and draping well on every body shape, making all gentlemen who wear it feel confident and instantly elevated.

How to wear it
Flannel has many endearing properties, but perhaps its most exceptional is its versatility. Whether you opt for a lightweight version to wear on a cooler autumn day or something more full-bodied for a blisteringly cold winter’s one, it promises to work in your favour. It also needn’t be reserved for smart occasions only; a checked flannel blazer looks incredible with dark jeans and a loafer, and a pair of grey flannel tailored trousers looks fantastic with a classic crew neck jumper. And then there’s flannel gloves, ties, shirts and casual jackets, all of which are perfect starting points if you’re new to the fabric.
Choosing a flannel suit will instantly elevate your everyday style and you’ll be up there with some of the best dressed in the world. Fox Brothers have crafted the flannel for suits for none other than: Cary Grant, Winston Churchill, Ralph Fiennes in Skyfall, Fred Astaire and many more outstanding gentlemen. So, what are you waiting for?
